It took most of the early/mid part of the 2000’s, but Pluto eventually churned through all that it was supposed to cycle through during it’s stay in Sag. From doping scandals in football, baseball cycling and track, to betting scandals in tennis and soccer, to the death of a beloved race horse, to orthodox and fundamentalist faiths getting turned on their heads by mega-church ministers copping meth and gay sex, to rabid zionistas hijacking eight years of Bush II. Hell, even poker became viewed as a respectable career path during Pluto in Sag.

Pluto did what is was supposed to do to with the representation of the sign it touched in it’s various manifestations, and it did it within the leisure of decade. With Pluto in Capricorn, I believe that the collective time scale is shrinking and things are happening faster and faster as Pluto transforms the very nature of time. That said, one of the big areas that Pluto will illuminate is corruption in government and big business.

Ladies and gents, the next decade will be rocked by scandal after scandal and even the most optimistic among us will be challenged to not become inured by the failure of the system. We’re already seeing the early returns of corruption rearing it’s ugly head in Illinois and I have little doubt that this affair with “Blago” is just a blip on the radar. With the muck bubbling up around Obama’s Stacy Adams’ this early on, not even sworn in, this is not a bright omen for the days ahead. Here is where the transparency so alarmingly absent in Bush II would be a welcome gesture from number 44.

And then there’s Rahmbo.

While being cornered by a Sun-Times reporter, Rahm Emmanuel ducked and weaved questions like a street brawler:

Emanuel was uncharacteristically absent from Obama’s news conference this morning. He was spotted two hours later in the lobby of Chicago’s City Hall. He was there to listen to his two children performing in a concert with their school, Anshe Emet.

A Sun-Times reporter pressed him to comment about whether he was the emissary named in the criminal complaint.

β€œYou’re wasting your time,” Emanuel said. β€œI’m not going to say a word to you. I’m going to do this with my children. Dont do that. I’m a father. I have two kids. I’m not going to do it.”

Asked, β€œCan’t you do both?” Emanuel replied, β€œI’m not as capable as you. I’m going to be a father. I’m allowed to be a father,” and he pushed the reporter’s digital recorder away.

Ouch.

Ultimately, I feel that we’re going to witness the puss filled canker of corruption, crack, and ooze across the socio-political landscape. Just like Pluto turned out all of those other activities such as sports, religion and foreign entanglements, so too will Pluto have it’s way with all things Capricornian and do it in half the time. Even Robert Rubin and his CITI pals are feeling the heat.

Watch out Wall St. Watch out Beltway. The skeletons are rattling their bones down in the basement.

I agree, Robert. Drawing out the diseased parts of life is what Pluto does best – so amazing when it’s very far away and not a gigantic body – yet its tracks through our lives and history can be identified, almost more clearly than any of the other planets. I wonder how that can be? Any ideas?

I’m glad that Fitzgerald is on the job – he’s doing Pluto’s work just now – doing it well!

I know you like Fitzgerald and I agree, he’s got a bit of Elliot Ness in him (Chicago again) but wasn’t he appointed by John Ashcroft? And when he was digging into Scooter Libby, I was really hoping that he would find The Gordian Knot to The Bush Admin and rout them from their nest and while he did what he needed to do with Bush/Libby, nothing more and nothing less, I can’t help but feel slightly let down that his work didn’t go deeper.

I checked with Wiki, Robert ~~

“On September 1, 2001, Fitzgerald was nominated for the position of U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois on the recommendation of U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald (no relation), a Republican from Illinois. On October 24, 2001, the nomination was confirmed by the Senate. The Senator had urged the selection precisely because Patrick was not from Chicago (Patrick said that he had visited Chicago only one day — for a wedding in 1982 — before being selected”

“On December 30, 2003, after then-Attorney General John Ashcroft recused himself from the CIA leak grand jury investigation of the Plame affair due to conflicts of interest, Deputy Attorney General James B. Comey, acting as Attorney General in Ashcroft’s place, appointed Fitzgerald to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Special Counsel in charge of the investigation”

It would have been good to see him go further, I agree, but don’t you suspect that there are some equally clever (though lacking in integrity) legal minds behind Bush who know exactly how to cover stuff up in such a way that it becomes either impossible or “dangerous” for them to be unearthed.
I bet Fitz could tell us a lot, but why put his life in danger when there’s so much more of Pluto’s work to be done? πŸ˜‰

Robert – I used to visit Citizen Wells daily, but eventually came to the conclusion that he and his followers, and the Larry Sinclair thing he supports are not based in reliable evidence. There’s a certain brand of paranoia going on there and at Texas Darlin’ and at No Quarter, and Cannonfire (he’s a a bit better) all of which blogs I linked to on mine a few months ago. I dunno what happened- I suddenly saw it all for what it is – a form of fantasy. Sorry. Of course I might be proved wrong eventually !

One simply has to believe in somebody, sometime, and I reached the terminus of the Wells ride. I want to believe in something good for the future, and I do believe that people like Fitzgerald have the country’s interest at heart, same for Obama. Neither is saint or Messiah, they are human with frailties- but for now they have my confidence, for what its worth.

Twilight, you bring up some interesting points, especially about believing in someone, et al Fitzgerald or Obama, that in some ways it’s better than being a hopeless nihilist. I wish I was wired that way–it would ceratinnly make my life easier–but I’ll blame it on a strong Pluto on my midheaven, coming from my ninth house, along with Uranus in Leo in my ninth, trining my Jupiter in Sag in my first. I have turned my gaze inward and am seeking other solutions as they relate to self-governance and the quantum human, though as a result, I sift through the dross of information and disinformation that’s out there and with my Scorpio ascendant, I rarely tire of the sifiting. πŸ™‚ I do it to constantly challenge versions of reality, including my own. Astrology, interestingly enough, seems to hold up pretty well to the ongoing litmus test.

I would love to know how you ended up in middle america and I wonder if you ever see yourself as a Quentin Crisp-like character in your own unique way? Do you know The Sting song, “Engligshman In New York?”

For me, Fitzgerald is useless unless he goes to the wall, and if that wall has an Emmanuel or Obama on it, then so be it. If either are culpable/complicit and neither are forced to answer to charges, then it’s a waste of taxpayers money and time.

I also sense a rapid loss of patience rising on both the left and the right. The collective blood pressure of the country is getting higher and higher.

Yeah – well, some days I’m Pollyanna, and on others I’m Madam Defarge sitting at the guillotine with me knitting ….lol!

Thanks for your mail, Robert – I shall respond and include in my answer a little about how I got here, as you were kind enough to ask. πŸ™‚

I have Pluto in first house, and Sun in 8th natally so I kind of understand where you’re coming from – but I have Jupiter in Pisces in 9th which probably sugar-coats much which might otherwise send me spiralling into paranoia.

I’ll be one of the first to complain loudly, and turn into Madam Defarge if it eventually turns out that Fitz or Obama have feet of clay, but for now I’m in Pollyanna mode on that score.

Quentin Crisp? Moi? Oh no, nothing as exotic as that ! I took a look at the Sting lyrics, which I hadn’t come across before. Mmmm – well, no, not really.
I’m a northerner (Yorkshire) we’re a down to earth bunch in the main. I do feel like an alien here at times though – the majority of Okies (outside the family) have attitudes so foreign to mine, that I often feel as though I’m not only in the wrong state, but on the wrong planet!
