Eclipsing the need to control.
Has there been any more cosmic drama at the start of a presidency in recent memory? Nothing like a little celestial drama for a Leo president. So let’s dive into this full moon and see how it will impact all the signs.
This full moon will reach its zenith eclipse point at 22 degrees Leo. My cyber astrology pal, Lynda Hill, has done her usual, marvelous work on the Sabian Symbol interpretation on this eclipse. One of the key themes that she seems to be touching on is “surrender.” The moon in Leo is fiery, proud, radiant, emotionally rich and vibrant in its display of affection, especially as it relates to children. Opposite the cool, winter, Aquarian Sun, it’s a night for fireplaces and hot cocoa, board games and stories. The eclipse can either amp energy and send it through the roof, or it mute it, making it challenging to get in touch with its essence. I believe that Lynda Hill, when referencing surrender, is referring in part to the energy itself. My advice for all signs would be to take as big a time-out as you can. Spend time with loved ones, cherish the warmth and connections that bring joy to your heart and allow your creativity to have a childlike spontaneity that invokes a knowing innocence, something along the lines of what Blake referred to as “imagination.”
The degree for this eclipse is 22. Twenty-two is considered a master number in numerology and if we look at the day upon which this eclipse culminates, it’s on 2/9 in the year 2009. That’s 2+9 = 11 and 2+9 = 11 again. Together, they equal 22, which echoes the 22nd degree of the full moon, lunar eclipse. So what does all of this mean? The numerical sequence reinforces the theme of mastery, especially as it relates to emotion and the heart (Leo) opposed by the distilled light of pure reason (Aquarius). Here we have the ability to strike an enlightened balance and master our fears, doubts, cultural dissonance and potentially paralytic social praxis. Stay in joy and master the fear.
On an esoteric level, days that are this loaded and charged with numerological import and symbolism are ripe for events that can serve as triggers, both positively and negatively…as we have seen in the past with other key days like 4/20, 7/7, 4/11 and 9/11. On Arguelles count of The Mayan Calendar, tomorrow is “Six Caban.” Caban has powerful Earth energy associated with it and almost always synchronicity. Pay attention to all of the seeming coincidences in your life and again, balance them. Here is the translation for “Six Caban.”
